Welding Decorative Metals

Taught by:

Explore different ways to cut, bend, heat, form, and weld sheet metal and stock to make decorative and functional objects. With a focus on careful design and aesthetics, students will not only build a foundation of metalworking skills, but also hone their design sensibility and understanding of more refined finished objects. Learn techniques on plasma cutters, torches, grinders, welders, and other forming tools as well as finishing options. Students will design and fabricate a project of their choice such as a wall hanging, candle holder, or light fixture. No supply fee; metal sheet and rod will be available to purchase at market rate in class. All levels welcome.
