Snug as a Bug: Bezel Setting for Rings

Taught by:

Bezel setting is a simple and fun way to incorporate stones, sea glass, and even found objects into jewelry! Explore the fundamentals of jewelry making and fabricate a ring in sterling silver with a bezel set cabochon stone. Learn to saw, shape, and texture metal; solder to form a ring to correct size; create a tight-fitting bezel to set a stone; and finally, apply patina and polish for the finishing touches. Beginners will learn the basics and gain confidence working with metal, while more experienced students can incorporate stones or objects into more complex designs. The instructor will provide a variety of sizes and colors of stones to choose from, and students are welcome to bring their own (round or oval stones of at least 8mm are recommended). All levels welcome!
