Sew a Hand-Stitched Shirt

Taught by:

Working with a pattern for a simple boxy top, learn how to sew seams, finish necklines, and hem edges with only your hands, needle, and thread. Try several methods for each type of seam and create a sampler of extra techniques, if you wish. Both decorative and functional stitching techniques will take your slow-fashion wardrobe to the next level and add an element of meditative calm to your sewing. On future projects, use your new skills in combination with machine sewing or entirely on their own. Students need to cut their pieces before the start of class (see supply list for pattern and directives). No supply fee; students bring materials. Basic sewing principles are helpful but not required. All levels welcome.

Only 1 spot available.
