Sculptural Steel Furniture

Using primarily 1/4 round rod, which is exceptionally malleable, students will go home with a welded piece of sculptural furniture. Projects will be inspired by furniture design and measurements, but can range from somewhat functional pieces of sculpture to an entirely useful end table. In addition to the round rod, makers have access to scrap material in the welding studio and additional dimensional steel stock to add variety to their work. Participants will learn to MIG weld, bend with both heat and cold processes, and work safely in a metal studio. Open to makers of all abilities.
