Sculpting Narratives in Porcelain

Explore visual storytelling and concepts of narrative through making porcelain sculpture. Ahrong’s techniques seamlessly blend slab building, coil building, and pinching to create hollow figures that seem to come alive. Demonstrations will include the making and using of plaster press-molds for repetition and variation. Color and surface decoration will illuminate the narratives, using select underglazes and tools for marks and patterns. All levels welcome.

NOTE: No firing this session, but work may be eligible for post workshop bisque firing, See details here.
