Personal Memento Weaving
Use simple frame looms to create artful weavings that hold meaning and memory for the maker. Everyday items with personal significance such as paper, clothing, and linens can be used as well as unconventional objects like stones, shells, flowers, or other found objects. Handweaving these meaningful materials is a way to honor the memory of a person or a place through a meditative, tactile process. Students will learn a plain weave structure and tapestry weaving techniques to create their pieces plus a variety of finishing techniques for display. All levels welcome.
