Ornamental Woodcarving
Learning to carve with traditional tools and techniques can open up a world of possibilities in wood carving and sculpting. Explore how subject design, tool shapes, and wood characteristics can work together. A series of demonstrations and exercises will include geometric forms, shells, leaves, and scrolls typical in ornamental work. Students will take home sample boards, new tool handling and visualization skills, an understanding of efficient carving process and the ability to apply these fundamentals to their own projects, whatever the style or subject. Some woodworking experience recommended.
