Mixed Media Fiber Studio

Invigorate and expand your artmaking practice by mining autobiography and translating experience into visual tales. The class will employ writing prompts to discover ideas and translate our narratives symbolically. With a focus on paper and textiles, learn expressive stenciling, printing, hand stitching, and machine sewing methods. Hands-on learning will be enhanced with review of design principles and slide shows of inspiring artists’ work. Practice an array of sharing and constructive feedback approaches, both one- on- one and in a group to build a positive working environment. Learning activities will be augmented with generous open studio time to play, experiment, and pursue new or continued projects.
