Joomchi & Beyond

Explore the Korean tradition of papermaking. By layering and agitating Korean mulberry papers and water, students will create strong, textural, painterly papers that can be used in a variety of applications. Joomchi can be used for sculptures, painting, surface design, collage, and drawing, or to create functional objects such as baskets or lamps. Students will also learn about the history, practice, and role of joomchi in Korean society.
