Introduction to Soldering: Learn to Tame the Flame

Taught by:

If you are new to soldering -- joining two pieces of metal together with a torch -- this class is for you! With a comprehensive overview of soldering and a close look at when to use each kind of solder technique, students will understand all the do’s and don'ts of successful soldering. Practice on samples including butt joints (for bezels/ ring bands) and sweat soldering two pieces of metal together. Explore small solder jobs like making jump rings and using paste solder to add finishing details. Before the weekend ends, put all these skills together to create a finished mixed metal piece that will explore the use of various metals, all temps of solder (hard, medium and soft) and multiple solder joints in one! Best for beginners.
