Intermediate Flameworking: Soft Glass Marbles

Leave the mandrel behind and explore your favorite bead designs in marble form. Learn to gather and shape using marble molds, practice making hot and cold seals with both boro and soft glass punties, and discover techniques for using larger diameter clear rods to make a magnifying lens or thin layers of encasement. Stringers in various diameters will be used to draw unique designs. And of course, master how to remove that final punty mark and get your finished marble into the kiln. Students will benefit from demos and guided assistance. Students can bring their own glass rods or purchase in class based on individual usage.
