Hot Patinas, Cold Connections

Taught by:

Learn how to create colorful, lasting patinas on metal! Heat patinas, solder inlay, liver of sulfur, epoxy resin, and chemical patinas will all be covered. Dabble in colored plexi and keum-boo too! Discussion will include correct methods of safety, surface prep, application, and sealants. Create many color samples and have the opportunity to focus on designing one or more finished wearable works from patinated pieces that can’t stand the heat. Learn to use tube and wire rivets, tab settings, and more! Please note: Each Student is required to provide their own 3M 6000 Series half-mask with 6003 cartridges to work with chemical patinas. This is not included in the workshop materials fee.
