Historical Plaiting Techniques

Taught by:

Decorative wire twisting, or plaiting techniques have been used by Northern European cultures since the late Bronze Age. Learn early Celtic and Viking Age methods, patterns, and types of plaiting, using modern materials and tools to replicate patterns that are not only historically accurate but also aesthetically pleasing. Bronze fusing and forging techniques will also be covered. By the end of the workshop, students will take home plaited bracelets or neck rings! No experience necessary.
