Glass Beads for the 21st Century

Taught by:

Beads play an important role in our personal lives as well as the larger histories of glass, trade, and culture. Working primarily with soft glass, explore a variety of flameworking techniques and take a journey through the history of glass. Instruction will include making extra-large beads, working off-mandrel on blown and sculptural forms, production strategies for making beads quickly and easily, and other fun experimental methods. Throughout the week, enjoy short casual lectures and group discussion on the history of flameworking, sparking your creativity and inspiring new designs. No supply fee; glass rods purchased in class based on individual usage. All levels welcome.
