Exploring Mosaics with Nature as Inspiration
Create abstract, representational or somewhere-in-between mosaics with nature as your muse. The mosaic making process is particularly relaxing and introspective; it is easy to get lost in the process. Whether you choose to work realistically from a photograph, or use nature as a starting point to work abstractly, Cindy will guide you personally, offering design tips specific to the medium of mosaic. Design with color, texture and the essential attention to shape to create complex and visually stimulating work. Work in the indirect method, laying a variety of mosaic materials on sticky mesh. Mosaics will be attached to panels and finished up with grouting and final touches on the last day. Students can create one larger piece or smaller works. All levels welcome.
