Carving Creative Jewelry from Colorful Corian®

Taught by:

Expand your jewelry making with a new material! Corian® is a combination of natural minerals and acrylic resin engineered by scientists in 1967 as an alternative material for kitchen countertops. Since then, Corian has evolved from its original purpose into countless other applications, thanks to the creative minds of artists, designers, and engineers -- and now jewelry makers. Corian comes in over 100 colors, and is an affordable, adaptable, non-toxic, and sustainable material. Using factory samples and scraps, learn how to use traditional metalsmithing tools and equipment to reuse, repurpose, and transform this unique material into colorful pieces of jewelry. All levels welcome.
