Valerie Gilman

Val Gilman earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her award winning figurative and abstract work has been exhibited widely for more than 30 years including recent shows at Art in the Orchard in Easthampton and Gallery A3 in Amherst. She also participates in Paradise City Arts Festival. After teaching at the college level for more than 14 years, she is enjoying being a solo artist, teaching at the community level and being a life coach for artists and creatives. She says, “The trick to accessing the deeper learning of the creative unconscious is to stay in the not-knowing for as long as possible. Let yourself be guided by the impulse and delight, and trust that you will recognize what is important as it emerges. This is play and it is essential to the health and well-being of all!”
