Stephen Hanks

Stephen T. Hanks has been a practicing professional artist for more than 45 years with work exhibited in galleries and museums in MD, DC, NY, CO, and CA. He taught 12 years in public and private high schools in DC and New York, and community college and seniors for the past 6 years in MD. He is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. Subjects taught include General Drawing, Portraiture, Watercolor Painting, Art Composition and Analysis, and Linear Perspective. He has BFA from Univ. CO, and an MS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. He worked 26 years at IBM as a commercial artist and a computer graphics software designer, while independently working as a publications illustrator. His watercolors have been published in multiple Best of America Watermedia Artists annual catalogs. His work is an eclectic mix of non-objective, abstract, and realistic content.
