Rob Jackson

Rob Jackson is a Professor Emeritus with the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and teaches frequently with the University's Study Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy. Former Area Chair for the Jewelry/Metals area, Rob enjoys a hands-on teaching approach and helping students express their individual directions. Rob has exhibited in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions including: I.M.A.G.I.N.E. Peace Now, Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston, MA; Ferrous, Velvet Da Vinci Gallery, San Francisco, CA ; ReContextualizing the Found Object, Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA; The Eloquent Nail, Velvet da Vinci Gallery, San Francisco, CA Solo Exhibition; The New Steel_V2, National Ornamental Metal Museum, Memphis, TN; Handcrafted, Rocky Mount Art Center, Rocky Mount, NC Best of Show Award 2008; Exquisite Scrap, Nancy Sachs Gallery, St. Louis, MO; Rob’s work investigating the use of found steel fragments in a jewelry format for over 25 years is documented in the chapter Rust Incorporated in The Penland Book of Jewelry.
