Lissa Hunter is a full-time studio artist living in Portland, Maine. Since she earned an MFA in Textiles from Indiana University, her work has concentrated on basketry, using many fiber techniques, and has most recently included drawing and clay. Her work is in major museum collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Museum of Art and Design and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Teaching and writing are important parts of her practice and she is honored to have been elected Life Trustee of Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
