Jen Simms is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Western Massachusetts. Her studio practice lies primarily in the realm of tapestry weaving, collage, drawing and painting. She is a tenured art professor at Greenfield Community College. Jen studied at the San Francisco Art Institute and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has exhibited her work throughout New England, including the deCordova Museum, the Fitchburg Art Museum and the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center. Jen has received numerous grants including the Blanche E. Colman Award, Visual Arts Sea Grant and the Artists’ Resource Trust Grant. Her residencies have included the Dune Shack Fellowship in Provincetown, Massachusetts and the Open Studio Residency at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine.
