Emily Bhargava has been building with glass, teaching and leading community art projects for more than 25 years. She often works on the border between art and public health, using art to share health information, to increase community capacity and collaboration, and to increase engagement in building healthy communities. Stained glass is her preferred medium, but she also works in mosaic, fabric and paint. Emily is Community Art Director for the Beautiful Stuff Project, a creative reuse center in Somerville, MA and co-chairs the programming committee of the New England Mosaic Society. Emily enjoys teaching in a relaxed setting, allowing students to experience the medium from the very beginning of class. She encourages exploration and experimentation while guiding students to assure success.
