Amber Scoon is an interdisciplinary philosopher and artist from Pelham, Massachusetts. She holds her PhD in Philosophy, Art and Critical Theory from the European Graduate School, her MFA in Painting and Mixed Media from American Universitys MFA program in Italy and her Bachelor of Science in Studio Arts from New York University. She published Quantum Art (Atropos Press, Dresden/ New York) in 2013 and will soon publish her new book Conversations and Uncertainty (Atropos Press, Dresden/ New York). Amber is the John Berger Fellow at the European Graduate School and a Professor at the Global Center for Advanced Studies. Amber exhibits her artwork internationally and looks forward to a solo exhibition at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, MA in January of 2017. Amber is particularly passionate about papermaking, drawing, collage and mixed media. Her aesthetic philosophy is founded in the idea that the activity of observation is both reciprocal and generative. It creates the world around us.
