Jalyn Cox received a scholarship in 2021. She talks about being a self-taught artist and what is was like taking a class at Snow Farm in this blog post and video interview.

The application and award process is intended to be highly accessible and reduce bias.

  • Scholarships awards will be made through a lottery. Applicants will be asked to identify a first and second choice studio of interest and awards will be distributed among studios.
  • Financial need, level of education, and professional accomplishment are not criteria for entry to the lottery.
  • The application requires a statement of interest that can be submitted in writing or by video.
  • A $25 application partially supports Snow Farm's administrative costs.

Awards Process

  • Applications will be accepted until March 26, 2023.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Snow Farm staff for completeness.
  • Members of the Snow Farm faculty and/or board of directors will oversee the drawings.
  • Selected applicants will be notified and given directions about how to choose and register for a workshop.

Terms and Limitations

  • Only workshops with space available at the time of the scholarship award are eligible for enrollment. Workshops that are full are not eligible.
  • Housing will be in a standard single room.
  • If a selected applicant declines their scholarship or does not register within the alotted time, another name will be drawn.
  • Any person who has been awarded a scholarship (excluding need-based scholarship to the high school program) in the past 3 years is not eligible.
  • The scholarship has no cash value if not used for a Snow Farm workshop.
