Metal/Wood Chair Building
Students will work with both metal and wood to fabricate a stool or chair based on the elegant and timeless designs of Forrest Stone. In the metal shop, students will learn basic welding, plasma cutting, tubing bending and notching, jig construction, pattern layout, and metal finishing. In the woodshop students will learn basic table saw skills, how to use a planer, design and layout, finish techniques, and mechanical joinery. Students must have some experience in both woodworking and welding. Take home a chair of your own making!
