COVID-19 Containment at Snow Farm

updated December 2022
Like everyone, Snow Farm has had to be flexible and creative in the years since Covid-19 became a reality in our lives. As a place with small classes (maximum 6 - 10) and 50-acres of wide-open outdoor space,  we were poised to become a safe haven to many. With adaptations to our studios and following guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and the MA Dept of Public Health, we have welcomed new and returning students to our campus since August 2020.

We have an exciting and robust program planned for 2023. The protocols below were in place at Snow Farm throughout 2022; we will confirm or update them by early April 2023 for the upcoming season. For further information, check out the cancellation policy and our FAQs.

2022 Covid Protocols - to be updated in April 2023

  • Classes have a maximum of 6 - 10 students, depending on the size of the studio space.
  • All dorm rooms are singles, except by request for people traveling together.
  • BYOL - students bring their own linens; linens can also be rented from Snow Farm, if needed.
  • Individuals who are fully vaccinated can choose to wear a mask or not, based on their needs.
  • Anyone who is not fully vaccinated is expected to wear a mask on campus in indoor spaces.
  • Both indoor and outdoor dining is offered throughout the year; outdoor heaters are available in the spring and fall.
  • Our housekeeping staff maintains a schedule that assures a clean environment in all the buildings on campus, and hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes are available.
  • In most studios, plexi-glass shields are available by request.
  • We operate on an honor system, and all students agree to our Covid-19 policies when they register.
  • Anyone who tests positive for Covid-19 while attending a workshop at Snow Farm must leave campus. Following an exposure, the close contacts (classmates) will be asked to eat together as a pod and not with other students. Anyone who wishes to leave their class following a covid exposure can receive a pro-rated credit for use on a future workshop.
