Professor David MacDonald retired in 2008 after teaching in the School of Art and Design at Syracuse University for 36 years.His unique creative work is inspired by his investigation of a variety of design sources in the vast creative traditions of the African continent. His work is represented in a number of private and public collections across the nation.He has received recognition through several articles in Ceramics Monthly, as well as appearances on nationally televised programs such as; HTV's "Master Craftsman", and PBS's "A Craftsman's Legacy". In 2011 he was awarded NCECA's "Excellence in Teaching Award".
