One Metal from Many: Contemporary Mokume Gane

Taught by:

Mokume-gane is a traditional, complex Japanese metalsmithing technique. In this workshop, learn a low-tech, low-cost method of Mokume-gane using mini-furnaces and a torch to fuse a stack of thin metal pieces. The bonded piece is then carved and flattened to make wood-grain patterned sheets. Students will fabricate a seamless band ring and other pieces of their own choice from the remaining sheet. NOTE: This workshop does not have a supply fee, but a $80 kit fee is payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.

Workshop Fee:
$595
