Kumihimo is the traditional Japanese technique of braiding strands to create intricately patterned cords for jewelry. The word means the "coming together of threads", and in this class, explore color and pattern while learning to make kongoh gumi (basic round braid) and kaku yatsu gumi (square braid). Students will make two necklaces, and learn basic jewelry-making to finish the braids with endcaps and a clasp. The possibilities are endless!
