Horan believes in the intrinsic, academic, and healing qualities of engaging in the creative act at all ages. Her philosophy and work are referred to in Dr. Tobi Zausner’s book, When Walls Become Doorways: Creativity and the Transforming Illness (2007). Horan has been teaching art for many years and finds and enjoys the reciprocal process in which her own art work is stimulated by the students whom she inspires. She currently lives and maintains a studio in Holyoke, MA.
