Snow Farm is a hands-on, intensive summer in art -- a place for both the newcomer and veteran to become involved in the world of art, an opportunity to be part of a small community of people joined by a common interest in creativity and each other. Snow Farm's contemporary studios and living spaces combined with its historic farmhouse and barns provide a professional studio environment and inspirational setting in which to live and work.
This intimate program, with a low faculty-to-student ratio, enables each person to work at their own pace and level. Diverse backgrounds and interests are represented in both staff and students. Learning from and helping each other makes Snow Farm more than an intense creative experience; it’s a significant personal experience as well, nurtured by close friendships and the discovery of new ways to perceive the world and your own capabilities. Snow Farm’s summer high school program offers a rich environment where you can explore previous art interests and work in a medium not available in your own school or community.
You will choose two studios, in which you will work closely with instructors in a small group setting with an emphasis on process, not product. This allows you to discover your own artistic abilities, goals and imagery while developing ideas that are compelling and meaningful to you. Each person enrolls in a morning and an afternoon studio. Maximum total enrollment is 60 people per session with no more than 9 in each studio.
