Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in writing and mailed, e-mailed or faxed to our business office address. Snow Farm will refund tuition, less a $75 withdrawal fee, for any participant who sends written cancellation of enrollment 30 days before the workshop is scheduled to commence. There will be no tuition refunds for any cancellations less than 30 days before the scheduled date of a workshop because of our obligations to our instructors and housing reservations. There is no return or prorating of fees for early departure from or late arrival to a workshop, regardless of the cause of departure. If it is necessary for Snow Farm to cancel a course for any reason, all registered students will be notified two weeks or earlier before the start date and offered the option of another course during the same Art InDepth week or Intensive, or a full refund of all deposits including the registration fee. Students who are flying should check on enrollment numbers before purchasing airline tickets. Sorry, but we can’t be responsible for non-refundable airline tickets.

Work Exchange Scholarship Program

Snow Farm offers a very limited number of work exchange scholarships during the workshop season. The Work Exchange Scholarship Program is designed to provide students, who might otherwise not have funds for workshop tuition, with the opportunity to pursue their artistic education by exchanging work hours for workshop tuition.  The program additionally provides Snow Farm with a seasonal work force that accomplishes needed repairs and renovations to our buildings and grounds.

The program works in the following way:

  • Eight hours of supervised work earns $100 of workshop tuition.
  • All work hours must be completed prior to the start of the workshop.
  • If lodging or meals are necessary during the work program or the workshop period, additional hours can be assigned according to need, and on a case by case basis.

The student will be assigned specific projects that are often physically demanding, outdoors, and at heights.  You may be scraping, painting, mowing, hauling garbage...or even washing dishes in the kitchen. You need to be in good shape and full of energy.   You’ll be supervised but will need to be a self-starter and take pride in the work you do.

If the student has specialized skills (IE: electrician, contractor, plumber, etc), special projects may be assigned specific to their skills. Certain jobs do require licensing.

In exchange, the student will be able to participate in workshops taught by some of the craft world’s leading artists, who are innovators in their fields and great teachers.

It is expected that work exchange students will work diligently and effectively following the guidelines established by their supervisor. It is also expected that all program participants will behave in a mature and professional manner. If work or behavior is not deemed appropriate, the Executive Director retains the right to terminate participation in the work exchange program.

To receive an application please contact the office at either sc@snowfarm-art.org or 413-268-3101.

You must also include a letter of intent, stating why you feel we should award you a work exchange scholarship along with any skills you may have.  In mid-April, successful applicants will receive notice of their participation and work schedule.

Should you have questions, please contact Pat Bennett at 413-268-3101.
