JOHANNA FINNEGAN-TOPITZERS’educational background took her from studying Communications and working in TV to living in Ireland and obtaining a Masters degree in Folklore. After many job experiences she decided to go back to school to train in the centuries-old craft of Bookbinding.  She attended the North Bennet Street School in Boston - a school devoted to the training of students in fine craftsmanship.  With the skills she learned in bookbinding she started to combine her love of drawing and design with the book form.  She enjoys using the canvas of the book cover and the material of leather to execute her designs.  She also loves the three dimensional nature of the book structure and its possibilities for conveying a story or emotion on multiple levels.  Johanna’s website is www.selkiebindery.com
