A practical workshop to feed your creative spirit! From simple bowls to candlesticks or platters, learn to shape a piece on the lathe. Then using various methods, embellish your pieces by carving designs and textures into the surfaces. For all levels Various carving techniques will be covered, from traditional to free form, using both hand and power tools.

Theo Fadel
Bio: Theo Fadel is a professionally trained wood artist from Holyoke, MA producing sculpture, relief and functional decorative works in a wide variety of woods and finishes including polychrome and metallic leaf. She has apprenticed and worked in NYC as a custom furniture maker and designer, turner and carver building everything from menorahs to corporate conference tables. Theo received a BA from Bryn Mawr College in Classical and Near East archaeology and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. She studied under Gustav Rehberger and Nathan Cabot Hale at the Art Students League, NYC and drawing under Simon Dinnerstein at the School of Visual Arts, NYC.
