Just in time for relaxing and entertaining outside! This is your opportunity to create artwork from metal which can weather the seasons grace your garden and home for years to come. Trellises, wind chimes, tables, plant stands and abstract sculptures, fabricated from a range of metals and using a variety of welding and metalworking techniques. The possibilities are endless and well within the grasp of the total beginner, while challenging for those with experience in sculpture and/or working with metals.

Bio:

Alison Safford received a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, and her MFA in sculpture from Alfred University. Alison has shown regionally and nationally, in traditional galleries, alternative spaces, and in site specific projects. Her past residencies included The Vermont Studio Center, Sculpture Space in Utica, NY, and Bubec Sculpture Studio in Prague, Czech Republic. For 8 years Alison taught metals shop to special needs students, and is currently teaching in the visual arts program at a Boston area private school.
