Explore the fundamentals of weaving-how colors combine, how to choose from the wide variety of new designer yarns, how to draft a weaving pattern that suits your project. After weaving a sampler, design and weave your own scarves, shawls, place mats. This class is for the beginner as well as those with experience who would like to advance their skills.

Bio: Kate Jenkins taught herself to spin and weave as a hobby 30 years ago. Today she works as a professional weaver, producing handwoven chenille fabrics for a clothing designer. She also designs her own line of chenille scarves and experiments with rug weaving and tapestry. She teaches weaving at several New England craft schools.
