Shibori, Stamping And Simple Screen Printing

In this workshop we will cover Shibori folding and stitching techniques, cold water dye baths, hand carved stamps, and paper and plant resist silkscreening. White cotton yardage is our blank canvas. Twisting, turning, pleating, pre-stitching, post-stitching, wrapping with or without string... the variations are myriad. Results range from the organic to the architectural. Layer color, create your own stamps and repeat patterns, as well as the addition of some simple silkscreening will enhance your fabrics. Learn about different dye techniques, paint applications, and how to discharge color. No experience necessary. This class is part of the Intergenerational Weekend and is open to ages 13 and above.
