In this workshop students will learn the basics of sandblast etching and how it can be used to repair and enhance their fused glass work. Firing schedules and how they can be adjusted for different effects will be discussed. Students will learn how to use sandblasting equipment and will complete a number of projects.

Bio: Tony Smith has been fusing and sandblasting glass for almost ten years and frequently combines fusing, sandblasting and graphic arts techniques to achieve unique shapes and texture in his artwork. He is a moderator and frequent contributor to the WarmGlass.com website, a contributor to the sandcarver.org sandblasting website and has taught numerous classes in fusing and sandblasting. When he's not working with glass, Tony enjoys a career as a mechanical engineer.
