The magic of rustic furniture is in the transformation of natural forms into functional, durable furniture and objects for the porch and garden. Branches and saplings growing deep in the woods, at the edge of ponds and fields: These are our media. Mark will share his keen eye for what naturally occurring forms suggest: textures of bark; unique curves and woody knobs; he always wants to pass this on to his students. A sense of discovery is at the heart of this workshop. Each piece is your own personal dialogue with nature! There is no "wrong"® way to work with this material once you know the fundamentals. An approach to object making, this is quick, requires only simple tools, and lends itself to invention and imagination. No previous wood experience is necessary
