Participants in this workshop will create a number of baskets using the traditional techniques of twining, plaiting and wickerwork. Using handmade paper and old book pages with methyl cellulose, the baskets will be partially or completely covered. As it dries, the paper "skin"® shrinks onto the baskets and the weave pattern is revealed. Supplementary projects, based on Japanese samples, will include vessels constructed entirely of paper
