Monoprints: The Painterly Print

Whatever your artistic skills, you can create beautiful images with monoprinting. Apply printing ink to a piece of plexiglass with a brush or roller, wipe some ink away, add colors and lines with a brush, use stencils and masks- there are so many techniques for creating an image. Then put a sheet of printmaking paper on the plexi plate and transfer the image to the paper by hand or with a press. Print multiple layers on a single image to add depth and complexity. Monoprinting is spontaneous, inventive, and so much fun. We use new non-toxic inks and solvents. This class will stimulate both the beginner and the experienced printmaker. No previous art experience necessary.
