Learn the ancient art of granulation—fusing tiny spheres of metal onto a backsheet to create interesting patterns. In this workshop you will explore the 3000-year-old history of this fascinating technique. Students will create granules in various sizes, prepare backsheet metal, make organic glue for adhering granules, and arrange granules into geometric and organic designs. Students will watch demos and practice fusing granules to backsheet and create small-scale earrings with your granulated designs. We will begin with fine silver and move into 22k gold (optional), as well as set a cabochon stone into a granulated design (optional)

This workshop is intended for students with torch experience.
