NEW - CYCLEART WEEKEND

June 2-3

Join us for this First Annual unique Snow Farm weekend which combines cycling and art! On Saturday choose from a 25, 50 or 75 mile bike ride through the beautiful rural Berkshires (profiles of each ride are available at snowfarm.org). Ride on country roads winding past farms, brooks and open fields. Stop to enjoy the amazing vistas along each route (don’t forget to bring your camera). After you’ve challenged your body with physical activity on Saturday, nourish your creative side on Sunday with a different feeling of bliss as you enjoy one of six different Snow Farm craft class. Each six hour class is taught by a professional artist. Cycling in Western Mass quite simply can't be beat and Snow Farm is the destination for learning a new craft or improving your skills.

The Rides: Links to the rides are below. Feel free to open them and explore all you can.  Look at the elevation profile; a video of the ride; roads and more.  All rides will begin promptly, rain or shine, at 10:00am on Saturday morning. Each ride will be supported with a sag vehicle equipped to assist you with basic mechanical problems or a refill of your water bottle. Riders will set their own pace and can stop for lunch at eateries along the way or carry a lunch with you (upon request Snow Farm will provide a bag lunch for an additional cost). Riders will be supplied with route map and routes will be marked at each turn.

The Classes: Choose from Glassblowing, Welding, Flameworking, Ceramics, Kiln Formed Glass and Woodturning. Each class will take you through safety, use of equipment, and allow you to complete at least one or more projects. Classes will begin on Sunday at 9:00am and finish at 4:00pm with an hour break for lunch. Due to cooling time for glass, the work made in Glassblowing, Flameworking and Kiln glass will be available for pick-up on the next day or will be mailed to non-commuting students.
